The web service uses browser LocalStorage to store the user’s typing statistics. These data is used for the typing tutor feature to make hints more suitable and appropriately timed.

The operator of the web service uses Google Web Fonts for a uniform representation of fonts across all users’ browsers and operating systems.
In order to properly display fonts on the web service, the Web Fonts component in the user’s browser makes the browser load them from the nearest font servers and with the best performing font technology. Both is decided based on the users IP and the browsers specifications, which are announced to the font servers.
The operator has a justified interest in presenting the web service properly and in an attractive way pursuant to Art. 6 (1) DSGVO.
Google Tag Manager

The web analytics services contained in this section enable the operator to monitor and analyze traffic on the web service and can be used to keep track of user behavior and improve usability.
For that purpose the operator integrates the Google Analytics component into his web service. When the user interacts with the web service, the web analytics component collects data about where the user comes from, what is the referring web service, about what sections of the operators web service are visited, how long, how often and in what order and how or if they are left. For technical reasons, the web analytics component places a cookie on the user’s browser, in order to recognize subsequent interactions of the same user. Upon each user interaction usage data along with personal data as the IP is automatically submitted by the web analytics component to the Google Analytics service for processing, which also comprises anonymization. The data is processed in the United States, respecting the Privacy Shield agreement for users from a member state of the European Union or another contracting state.
The operator has activated the IP anonymization feature for this web service. The user’s IP address will be shortened by Google within the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area prior to transmission to the United States. Only in exceptional cases the full IP address is sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. User data recorded by Google Analytics is automatically deleted after 14 months at most.
The collected, anonymized and aggregated data is then presented to the operator of the web service in form of a report, visualizing the overall user activities on the web service, in which the operator has a legitimate interest.
However, the user controls if and how these cookies are stored by applying the corresponding settings in his browser. The cookies used by Google Analytics can be deleted at any time by the user taking the appropriate action in his browser. In addition, there is the possibility to Opt Out for the user.
The contract about data processing between the operator of this web service and Google Analytics is based on Art. 6 (1) DSGVO.
